Phil Neville has responded to being sacked by former Manchester United team-mate David Beckham as manager of MLS side Inter Miami.
Neville was fired as manager with Miami sitting bottom of the Eastern Conference having struggled for results in recent weeks and losing 1-0 to New York Red Bulls last time out. Miami have lost their last four games and Neville has paid the price, with his two-and-a-half year tenure at the club now over.
Co-owner Beckham said it was the right time to make the change and hailed his former United team-mate's hard work and contribution to the fledgling club. And Neville, who was placed under the microscope last week when he swore at a reporter who interrupted an answer during a press conference, has now taken to social media to post his thoughts on his Stateside departure.

"Finally, to the fans - thank you for your amazing support as always. I am immensely proud of the work that we have all done creating a culture of hard work and spirit. Also, having the courage to give opportunities to the incredibly talented group of young players we have developed during my time here. I will always have Inter Miami CF in my heart."
