Phil Foden has named Kevin de Bruyne as the best player he has played with at Manchester City, ranking him slightly ahead of a club legend he idolised growing up.
Foden's rise from academy hopeful to first team regular at City has been remarkable, especially when you consider the calibre of players he's had to compete for minutes with in recent years.
As a childhood City fan, Foden will no doubt appreciate the difficulty of choosing City's all-time best player. He faced a similar tricky choice when asked to name the best player he's played alongside, and despite looking up to David Silva both as a fan and player, the 22-year-old admitted that he would have to pick current teammate De Bruyne.

"When I was watching football and growing up I loved David Silva but seeing Kevin De Bruyne every day in training, the things he does! Unbelievable player; probably the best player I’ve ever, ever played with," Foden said in an interview with TCL.
David Silva was just one of the footballer's Foden idolised as he grew up though; the England star used to watch the Three Lions as a kid, and hopes to do what the so-called golden generation of the 2000s could not.
"I used to like [David] Beckham, [Wayne] Rooney when I was watching England," he said. "I thought we should have won something, that team was unbelievable.
"Just watching football on the TV, seeing big players play football and I just wanted to be like them. I used to go to the park to play every day wishing I could be one of them one day."
