Manchester City attacker Phil Foden has insisted that his partnership with teammate Erling Haaland is only going to improve over the coming months.
The England international scored a first career hat-trick as Pep Guardiola's side secured a 6-3 victory over rivals Manchester United on Sunday afternoon. Norwegian striker Haaland also scored three times as City ran riot at the Etihad in the 188th Manchester derby.
Haaland's hat-trick was his third of the campaign so far, with the 22-year-old scoring 14 goals in eight Premier League appearances since his summer switch from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund. Foden believes that City's triumph over United demonstrated his and Haaland's exciting potential as a pair, with the Englishman praising his teammates' impact since his move to the Etihad Stadium.

"We are definitely getting more used to Erling within the team, and I am building a connection with him which is nice to see," Foden said.
"He’s such a big talent and I am just enjoying playing with him. He is such a new player and we are all still getting used to playing with him. It’s scary to think what he has already done in the team, and he is not even settled yet. It is still a new partnership.
"There are a lot of things that we can improve and get better on. We have to build on this result now and keep getting better. His attitude to football is fantastic. He is always doing the right things."
Foden's second strike against United saw him record his 50th career goal for City, with the 22-year-old becoming the youngest player to achieve that feat playing under Guardiola, surpassing the record previously held by Lionel Messi.
The city attacker was keen to praise the Catalan boss for his trust, guidance and support since the youngster broke into the Blues' line-up.
"I have got a lot to thank him for, looking at the quality of the team and for him to trust me," Foden added. "I have got a lot to thank him for and I enjoy working for him every day.
"To be able to score three was special for me. It’s been a long time coming. I have scored two goals a couple of times now but, thankfully, I am happy to score a hat-trick.
"I have been dreaming about scoring against Manchester United. Things just fell for me in the right areas and I am really thankful that I put them away."
Foden has made 180 appearances for City, registering 51 goals and 35 assists since coming up through the youth ranks.
