ONTARIO, Calif. — Phil Di Giuseppe was the lone scorer in the shootout as the Abbotsford Canucks edged the Ontario Reign 2-1 on Monday in the American Hockey League.
Sheldon Dries scored in regulation time for Abbotsford (12-12-4), the minor league affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks.
Arturs Silovs made 22 saves and turned away three skaters in the shootout for the win.
Jordan Spence opened scoring for Ontario (18-6-5) and Matthew Villalta stopped 34 shots in net.
Both teams went 0 for 5 on the power play.
