CHANDIGARH: The food and drug administration department of the Haryana government on Wednesday raided and sealed a pharmacy counter inside a hospital in Faridabad for flouting norms .
According to sources, the said pharmacy counter was running without a license which was thereafter closed with immediate effect. The FDA team also prepared the inventory and procuring details about people behind the counter for the purpose of further prosecutions. Investigation to ascertain the involvement of local officials too is under underway, said sources.
Haryana’s FDA minister Anil Vij said that a team comprising of Faridabad’s senior drug control officer Karan Singh Godara and Faridabad-1 drug control officer Sandeep Gahlain had organised a raid at an open counter running in the premises of Satya Hospital located in IP Colony, Faridabad.
After the raid, it was found that the counter was operational without any valid license. It was also revealed that allopathic medicines were being sold over the counter on the prescription of Dr CM Goswami, who is also the owner of the hospital tnn
