The Eagles have one of the top front offices in all of football, but the one handicap that could eventually sink Howie Roseman is his alleged inability to properly evaluate NFL draft talent.
Philadelphia’s retooling and recent struggles can be attributed to Roseman’s 2019 and 2020 draft class that outside of Miles Sanders and Jalen Hurts, lacks any true star power and upper-echelon talent.
The Eagles passing on DK Metcalf (Arcega-Whiteside) and Justin Jefferson (Reagor) has stunted the growth of the Philadelphia passing game while forcing the teams’ general manager to potentially draft a wide receiver in three straight first rounds.
April’s NFL draft also offers an intriguing scenario with seven teams owning multiple first-round picks, the first time that’s happened in 40-years.
It’ll offer the opportunity for those teams to dictate the pace of the draft and PFF recently looked at the perfect first-round for all seven teams.
For Philadelphia, it was three talented defenders who could turn Jonathan Gannon’s defense into one of the NFL’s best.

Pick No. 15: DI Devonte Wyatt, Georgia
Pick No. 16: LB Devin Lloyd, Utah
Pick No. 19: EDGE George Karlaftis, Purdue
Lloyd is a three-down, versatile linebacker who plays faster than his 4.66-second time in the 40-yard dash suggests, while Wyatt is a game-wrecking defensive tackle who can also slide down to the defensive end.
Karlaftis is a powerful pass rusher in the mode of Ryan Kerrigan and would provide Philadelphia’s defensive line with another capable of creating immense defensive pressure.
