“The Roast of Tom Brady” premiered on Netflix Sunday night, and the guest speakers did not hold back. Several key figures throughout Brady’s football career showed up at the event, including quarterback Peyton Manning.
Manning has had several, well-documented battles with Brady over the years on the football field, dating back to his days with the Indianapolis Colts from 1998-2010. Brady won the head-to-head series by an 11-6 margin, with Manning getting the last laugh in the 2015 playoffs.
Manning’s younger brother, Eli Manning, had far more success against Brady. Eli won two Super Bowls against New England in the 2007 and 2011 seasons. Although Eli was not at Sunday’s roast, Peyton made sure to take a jab at Brady on his brother’s behalf.
“My (golf) handicap is a 6.4. Tom’s handicap is blowing leads to my brother Eli in the Super Bowl,” Manning quipped.
It is no secret that Eli was Brady’s kryptonite. Although they may not have been funny during his playing days, Brady took the jokes in stride on Sunday night.
