Petrol prices to hit £1.65p per litre 'soon', RAC warns, due to Russia sanctions

Petrol prices are likely to rise to £1.60 per litre this week and jump to £1.65 "soon" after due to the impact of new sanctions on Russia.

The UK will phase out imports of Russian oil and oil products by the end of 2022, Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng announced on Tuesday.

Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky said the measures sent a "powerful signal".
