Livingston-born world champion Peter ‘Snakebite’ Wright has set up a repeat of last year’s final as he continues his bid for a second straight World Matchplay title.
The 52-year-old is set to take on Dimitri Van Den Bergh in the quarter-finals tomorrow (Thursday). Wright defeated the Belgian in the final 12 months ago to lift the trophy for the first time.
The current world no.1 was pushed all the way in Tuesday night’s second round clash with Krzysztof Ratajski, needing to win a tie-break to advance to the last eight.
