Peter Tobin dies in hospital after falling ill while serving life sentence

Serial killer Peter Tobin has died in hospital today.

Glasgow Live previously reported how the notorious murderer was chained to his hospital bed and was refusing food and medication. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 and was admitted to hospital recently after a bad fall.

The 76-year-old had been serving a life sentence at HMP Edinburgh for the cruel killings of Angelika Kluk, Vicky Hamilton and Dinah McNicol.

His death is not being treated as suspicious, reports the Daily Record.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At 6.04am on Saturday, October 8, 2022, officers attended at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh following the death of a 76-year-old man.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Before Tobin was caged in 2007 for his heinous crimes, he served ten years behind bars after committing a double rape in 1993, following which he was released in 2004.

Until his death, he had been serving a whole life order for the three murders committed between 1991 and 2006.

In addition to the three killings of Angelika Kluk, Vicky Hamilton and Dinah McNicol, detectives believe Tobin was responsible for the deaths of many other young women and girls.

The monster had devoted his lifetime to carrying out crimes across the country, with the remains of two missing teenagers, Vicky, 15, and Dinah, 18, found at his former home in Margate, Kent.
