Peter Wright begins his quest for darts history tonight (Thursday) as he starts his bid to become the first Scot to win three PDC World Darts Championship titles.
The 52-year-old Livingston-born ace is the defending champ having lifted his second title in three years when he defeated Michael Smith in the 2022 final last year.
The flamboyant ‘Snakebite’ is the highlight figure on the opening day of the 2023 event at the Alexandra Palace with the world no.2 last up.
He will face either Mickey Mansell or Ben Robb in a second round clash. Should he avoid a shock defeat, Wright can enjoy a rest with his third round fixture not taking place until after Christmas.
