As tickets sales go crazy for Peter Kay's first tour in 12 years, people are reminiscing over his best bits from previous gigs in Glasgow and beyond.
Ticketmaster was inundated with "unprecedented" levels of traffic on Thursday morning, as the presale began for Peter Kay's 2023 tour. The comedian will visit Glasgow's OVO Hydro on May 5 and 6 next year.

Peter Kay's Christmas Audience in Glasgow
One of Peter Kay's special moments in his shows is when he grabs the camera and films the people who have came to see him on stage - ripping them with intelligent jokes all the while.
In Glasgow, Peter scanned the crowd and even came across a local celebrity while doing so. He spotted two stewards doing their job, and launched right in, much to the amusement of the crowd.
Then all of a sudden, Susan Boyle cropped up in the crowd - to which Peter said: "You've the look of Susan Boyle love - look at her!"
We wonder if it was the real Susan after all - it was a canny lookalike if not.
Peter Kay's Misheard Lyrics
One of Peter's most iconic bits in his set was his misheard lyrics gag. In this clip, which garnered over 10 million views on YouTube, he said: "I was singing Take That’s Back for Good, singing ‘wash your back’ instead of ‘want you back."
Another misheard song was Sister Sledge's We Are Family, where he mistakes "state for the record" as "staple the vicar".
Peter Kay and his love for Garlic Bread
This line didn't actually originate from Kay's stand-up lips - it was a line delivered by his character Brian Potter in the 2001 show Phoenix Nights.
In the show, Peter's character Brian said: "Garlic bread! It’s the future, I’ve tasted it.” He incorporated it into his comedy routine, and is still regularly shouted at him today.
In 2017, during a chat with Jonathan Ross, he said people still shouted the line at him in the street when they saw him.
Dancing at Weddings
During his stand-up show, Kay demonstrated the way different people danced like at weddings. He had the auntie dancing with a small child - who he joked wasn't even there.
He also noted what "little lads" danced like at weddings, and demonstrated how they slid across the floor on his knees.
Telephone Etiquette with Peter Kay
And finally, one of the funniest ways in which Peter Kay joked at society was the telephone etiquette different people had in the UK.
He joked that his mum was at the show in this particular clip, meaning he didn't have to "give her three rings" on the phone. Kay then went on to say: "But when I do give my mum three rings, she picks up on the third ring - so what's the point of that?"
