Peter Grant debunks Ange Postecogou Celtic exit theory but confesses Parkhead shelf life with 'bored' caveat

Confident Peter Grant insists Ange Postecoglou would be looking to leave Celtic for a top six English Premier League job if he was to be tempted to leave the Scottish Premiership.

The Parkhead boss was linked with the vacant Brighton job before Roberto De Zerbi was handed the reins. And recent reports down south suggested he is being lined up as a potential replacement for Brendan Rodgers at Leicester after an impressive first season in Glasgow's east end. He has stated a move isn't even on his mind, telling the Australian media he is "living the dream" with Celtic.

Celtic Park hero Grant insists there is no reason that the boss would walk away for a move to England's top flight - insisting only Manchester United can top the pressure o f Celtic and Rangers. But he concedes that a time may come where Postecoglou's ambitions see him tempted to move south of the border.

He told The Go Radio Football Show: “ Manchester United is the only club that plays under the pressures of Celtic and Rangers. That is a fact.

"He is lorded here. Maybe he wants to go to the Premier League and one of the top six clubs, and to do that you have to show you can manage a Celtic or a Rangers. He’s proven that he can do that, and there will be people coming and chapping on his door.

"The only way people come chapping on your door is if you’re doing the business. When Celtic players are being sold, it’s because they are doing well.

“The manager will make a decision at some time and say ‘enough is enough I want to try the Premier League in England’, and maybe not. There are some guys who are delighted at doing this, but he may know he may get bored doing this after a period of time.

"There is always that something that has got to spark you. He is an intelligent man, but I don’t see him leaving at this moment in time. You see how he is lorded there and long may it continue.”
