When it rains it pours. Hot on the heels of news that Phillip Lim is leaving his creative director role at 3.1 Phillip Lim comes word of another fashion house parting ways with its designer. Helmut Lang just announced that Peter Do will be stepping down from the brand at the end of the month.
Do didn't exactly have a long tenure. The designer, who also creates for his eponymous label, took on the position just last year. His debut Helmut Lang collection was presented with great fanfare during New York Fashion Week Spring 2024. It was a bit slow going at first, but Do's more recent offerings for the brand have been gaining ground.
The designer's final Helmut Lang collection will be for the Pre-Fall 2025 season. No word yet on if the house will once again rely on its studio team or bring in a new creative director. Stay tuned.
