Peter Andre called out by ITV This Morning viewers as he reveals truth behind Mysterious Girl

Peter Andre's slip of the tongue appears to have got him told off by This Morning viewers as he made his latest appearance on the show. The singer and TV star was live in the studio on Friday (January 20) as he joined the ITV daytime show's hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary on the famous sofa.

They were on hand to help him celebrate 30 years in showbiz and to kick off their chat, Peter was reminded of his first appearance on This Morning with Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan when it was recorded in Liverpool. As well as an interview, a young Peter also performed his hit single, Mysterious Girl.

After seeing the performance, Peter likened his younger self to his son teenage Junior who is now following in his dad's musical footsteps. "Do you know what, it’s mad, when you showed that clip with me – I was just going to say Junior – I thought, it literally reminded me of Junior," he said.

"He looks just like you," Alison agreed before Pete, who shares Junior and daughter Princess with ex-wife Katie Price, joked: "Yeah, poor thing, I’ve been talking to him about that." But he went on: "They were great days, just looking back at all that! And do you know, Phillip [Schofield] used to interview me 20 odd years ago, and when I came out of the jungle and I sort of came back into it years later, I didn’t realise he was the same person!"

During the chat, Peter also revealed how Mysterious Girl didn't take off on its first release or even its second and that when it topped the charts in 1996 it was the third time it was released.

And the former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here star also spoke about his new album and shared how he was inspired to release the record after he received a piece of advice from Gary Barlow. He said: "Gary reached out to me about three years ago for these crooner sessions he was doing. We did this duet together and he rang me after and asked 'what are you doing'.

"I told him I just like writing for other people now and he basically said 'get off your a**e and do it." But Pete quickly apologised as he asked if he was allowed to say the a-word. While the pair laughed and told him it was too late, they did let him off as Dermot said: "If it was anyone else, but because it's you."

But This Morning viewers were on hand to reprimand him. While @STUltim8Fan4rum misheard the swearing, he said: "Did #PeterAndre just drop an F Bomb during his interview with @AlisonHammond and @radioleary #ThisMorning." @TellyVsPodcasts wrote: "Andre wash your mouth out #ThisMorning."

Meanwhile, fans were left confused as they thought they had already celebrated Peter's three-decades in the industry last year. @Borisnose2 tweeted: "Wasnt peter Andre celebrating 30 years last summer on #thismorning? He got a cake of himself from josie and craig.... #thismorning."

@mostlystupid found evidence of that appearance and shared: "Hey #ThisMorning - you're making a big song and dance about celebrating 30 years of Peter Andre, but you already did it a year ago." @cb_038 added: "Itv1 are celebrating 30 years of Peter Andre for about the 896th time, bet he's on Loose Women again next week! #ThisMorning."
