Peter Andre arranges support for his unwell mum after ‘emotional’ Australia reunion

Peter Andre sought help for his poorly mum while he was in Australia after the pair were finally reunited after two years apart.

The Mysterious Girl singer, 49, flew back to his homeland to be with Thea, whose health he said was "really declining".

Pete was joined by his brother Michael and son Junior, 16, on the trip, who was no doubt delighted to see his family, including grandad Savvas and aunt Debbie.

Pete has been desperate to see his elderly parents after being stuck in the UK during the coronavirus pandemic.

But after an epic journey across the world, he made it Down Under and said his primary concern was Thea.

"My mum isn’t very well, but we have met up with people over here to get her some support, which was really important.

"Being here with them has meant everything and the moment we were reunited was so emotional," he wrote in his column for OK! magazine.

Pete explained that wife Emily, 32, and kids Princess, Millie and Theo were unable to make the trip due to work and school commitments, adding that he was "really missing them" but that "Emily was holding the fort".

The singer recently posted a snap of him and Thea, with the caption: "These last few days with my mum have been the greatest days in many many years. I can't begin to express how I feel to be with her. I'm happy now."

Peter, who was born in London and grew up in Australia, has been dreaming of a family reunion ever since the pandemic struck in March 2020.

Opening up about his heartache in his New column last year, Peter insisted that his parents were his "main priority".

"My number one priority this year is to go and see my mum and dad in Australia, as I miss them too much," he wrote at the time.

After some much needed family time in Oz, Pete explained he would have "loved to have stayed longer", but he's now off to Puerto Rico to judge Miss World, which was postponed due to the pandemic.

It's a busy time for the Andre family with all of Pete's media commitments and Junior's exciting music career.

The teen has been signed to Harry Styles' record label and proud dad Pete is taking a hands-on approach with to his son's success.

While admitting that the music industry was “like a lion’s den”, the I'm A Celeb star is confident that Junior will be a huge success with his "fresh" style.

Pete's hopes for Princess, meanwhile are slightly more spiritual - he still hopes she'll become a nun.
