After past delays, DJ legend Pete Tong finally will be getting the post-racing party started this Plate Day - and it promises to be a blast.
The postponed appearance by the music star - who had been due to appear at Plate Day in 2020 when the pandemic hit, then was rescheduled again in 2021 - will see Tong and the Heritage Orchestra serve up plenty summer hits in a new Ibiza Classics show this Saturday at Newcastle Racecourse.
The June 25 set, featuring re-workings of iconic dance anthems, is described as a "must-see for ravers, party animals and everyone who ever saw Ibiza as their Mecca". The DJ, who has proved a hugely influential figure in dance music over the past 20 years, will be at the heart of a 65-piece orchestra show - conducted by Jules Buckley - which will wrap up Plate Day spectacular visuals, lasers and party anthems.
