Pete Doherty banned from The Libertines' tour bus

Pete Doherty was banned from The Libertines tour bus during their latest trek

Pete Doherty was booted from The Libertines' tour bus during their latest series of shows.

The musician has admitted he was forced to travel in the crew bus when the band hit the road earlier this year because he insisted on bringing his two dogs along - as well as his wife Katia de Vidas and their daughter - and it was all "too much" for Carl Barat.

Pete told NME: "Obviously [my dog] Gladys comes with me everywhere, but I do have another dog. When he came with me on tour, I was actually banned from the band bus.

"One baby, a wife and two dogs was too much, so I was put on the crew bus. But you know what? The crew bus is a f****** cool place to be!"

He added: "I don’t want them [the dogs] to be any place they’re not welcome. It’s not that they’re not welcome; it’s just that [Gladys] likes to know where she is.

"She’ll have a sniff around at night to see who’s in the bunk, and that was too much for Carl."

Pete went on to insist Carl does actually like dogs but just didn't want to share the band's bus with them. He added: "He is a dog person, he just doesn’t like to have his groin nuzzled in his sleep at night. At least not by Gladys!"

It comes after Pete revealed he is shunning technology since sobering up and doesn't have a cell phone.

He is quoted by The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column as saying: "Since I’ve got off the gear I haven’t had a phone. I think me and my dad are the only people "I know that don’t have one.

“My wife has one, so if it’s an emergency, you can get hold of me. And I’ve got a landline.”

However, the 'Can't Stand Me Now' hitmaker has suffered from problems since ditching the tech - and struggled to board a train recently without an e-ticket.

He said: "I tried to take a train the other day, and they wouldn’t let me on without a digital ticket; it’s absolutely insane.

"They didn’t believe me either when I said I didn’t have one. She was just confused and then started getting suspicious. She was French."
