Pete Carroll says Jamal Adams will return to practice this week

It’s been a brutal few days for the Seattle Seahawks. An abundance of optimism was dashed on Sunday when they were humiliated 30-13 by the Los Angeles Rams. Particularly concerning was the fact the Rams either scored, or were in a position to score, on every single one of their drives. No turnovers or punts were forced. Part of this stems from the fact Seattle’s pass rush was non-existent.

Fortunately, it looks like help could be on the way. Head coach Pete Carroll delivered some much-needed good news, as he announced star strong safety Jamal Adams will return to practice this week.

It’s been a long road back for Adams, perhaps longer than folks might have thought. Adams was lost for the season in Week 1 last year, and he still has not fully returned.

Here’s hoping this is truly the positive sign we’ve been looking for when it comes to Adams’ health. The Seahawks need pass rush help, and we’ve seen what kind of impact he can make when it comes to terrorizing opposing quarterbacks.

Seattle has a tall order next week to avoid going 0-2 when they travel to the Motor City to face the Detroit Lions, who are fresh from a Thursday night win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
