A depraved doctor has been struck off after sexually assaulting colleagues at a Scots hospital. Sick Dr Fredrick Ruzvidzo attacked two women at University Hospital Monklands in Airdrie, and was later convicted at the Lanarkshire town's sheriff court.
Now, he has been told he can no long practise medicine in the UK after watchdogs stripped him of his licence at a special hearing, reports Glasgow Live. The details of Ruzvidzo's convictions had gone largely under the public radar until he was hauled before a hearing by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) this week.
It emerged he was working as an anaesthesia associate at the hospital when he kissed a colleague on the body without her consent in January 2019. Eight months later he struck again at Monklands when he repeatedly grabbed a nurse by her body, kissed and groped her.
He was eventually convicted in March 2021 and sentenced to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work and issued with a supervision order for two years.
The MPTS concluded this this week Ruzvidzo's fitness to practise is currently impaired and determined he should be erased from the medical register. An immediate suspension order was imposed to cover the 28-day appeal period.
In a previous statement to Glasgow Live, health chiefs at NHS Lanarkshire said the medic was no longer employed there and refused to confirm if they have, or plan to conduct an investigation into his behaviour.
