Peru’s former President Alejandro Toledo says he’ll voluntarily surrender to U.S. Marshals if he’s ordered extradited to face corruption charges in his home country.
Until then, Toledo, 77, asked a U.S. magistrate judge to allow him to remain free on bail.
The U.S. government had asked the judge last week to revoke Toledo’s bail to ensure he’ll be available for transfer to Peruvian custody. The judge gave Toledo until Wednesday to respond to the government’s request.
