A group of volunteers working to deliver charitable donations to the war-hit people of Ukraine waved off a consignment of much-needed medical supplies yesterday as the ever-worsening conflict in the country continues.
Tayside and Strathearn Help for Ukraine (TASH4Ukraine) estimate the latest batch of goods sent off to Europe from Errol Airfield yesterday morning (June 27) on the back of a lorry brings the total value of donations it has dispatched to the region to date to over half-a-million pounds.
The charity’s co-ordinator Kenneth Simpson told the PA as the lorry set off on its journey east to another distribution centre in Poland the medical equipment loaded onto it would go on to be split between hospitals in urgent need of supplies.
