A person has been taken to hospital following an incident in Wallsend.
A section of High Street West, near the Queen's Head pub, was taped off by police on Sunday afternoon. There were a number of police vehicles parked up near the cordon.
The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) said they attended the scene after receiving reports of a person injured as a result of an incident. They confirmed they had taken one patient to hospital by ambulance.

A NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call to 999 at 15:12 this afternoon to reports of a person injured as a result of an incident on High Street in Wallsend. Police also attended.
"We sent a specialist paramedic and an emergency ambulance crew and took one patient to hospital."
