All lines between Cardiff Central and Bridgend were closed after a person was hit by a train. A number of early morning train services on Thursday (March 30) were cancelled or revised.
Traffic monitoring system Inrix reported that the incident happened between Ponyclun and Cardiff Central. They were reporting that services may divert via Barry with delay or they may be cancelled entirely.
National Rail says the closure affected Great Western Railway between London Paddington and Swansea and Carmarthen.
Transport for Wales services affected were between Manchester Piccadilly, Aberdare, Pontypridd, Cheltenham Spa, Crewe, Caerphilly and Cardiff Central and Bridgend, Maesteg, Milford Haven, Carmarthen, Pembroke Dock and Swansea
All lines had re-opened by 7.15am, and they were reporting that normal service had resumed.
