A PERSON has died after being hit by a train in North Lanarkshire.
ScotRail said they received reports that a person had been struck by a train between Wishaw and Coatbridge at around 11pm on Friday.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene, however the person was sadly pronounced dead.

Police have since revealed the incident is not being treated as suspicious. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A spokesperson for ScotRail said: "Unfortunately we have had reports of a person being struck by a train between Wishaw and Coatbridge.
"We are working closely with emergency services during this time."
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to the railway line at Braidhurst Viaduct at 10.44pm on Friday, July 19 following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however, sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal.”
