Person hit by train at Merseyrail station as services cancelled and delayed

Some Merseyrail services were delayed or cancelled after a person was hit by a train.

Emergency services rushed to Bache Train Station near Chester following reports of an incident at around 4.20pm on Friday, April 15. Once at the scene police officers and paramedics found a person had been hit by a train on the line.

According to Merseyrail's website there is 'major disruption' to services on the Chester Line. The 4.30pm, 4.45pm and 6.15pm trains between Chester and Liverpool Central are cancelled.

A spokesperson said: "Due to a person sadly hit by a train in the Bache area, services will now start and terminate at Hooton. Services in the area are currently at a stand.

"Buses have been requested to run between Hooton-Chester but are not yet in operation."

No further details were provided on the person's condition.
