TRAINS between Perth and Dundee were delayed after a person was found dead on the tracks.
ScotRail services were delayed after emergency services were called to Invergowrie station shortly after 10pm on Saturday after receiving a report of a casualty on the tracks.
British Transport Police attended along with paramedics, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “We were called to Invergowrie station shortly after 10pm on Saturday (September 12) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Officers attended along with paramedics but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal.”
According to train punctuality reports, ScotRail rail services from Perth to Dundee did not run from 9:45pm, with the 10.46pm service also being cancelled, as the emergency services attended the incident.
The 10:51pm service did run as normal.
