If the Full Sturgeon supermoon wasn’t enough for astrology fans this week, there’s a meteor shower set to dazzle the sky this weekend.
The Perseid meteor shower will illuminate the skies on Saturday morning, 13 August, between 12am and 5:30am. It’s considered one of the year’s highlights for stargazers and it is caused by debris left behind by comet Swift–Tuttle.
This happens every July or August, and is one of the brightest and best of the year as 150 shooting stars per hour will soar through the sky. There is a slight chance the shower may also bring fireballs, bright meteors, as well as meteors with tails.
