Perfect month bring Man City's main men to the fore

It's fair to say that March was a successful month for Manchester City, ending it with a record of four wins, 16 goals scored, 0 conceded.

Two hard-fought Premier League wins against Newcastle United and Crystal Palace ensured that they kept the pressure on leaders Arsenal at the top of the table. They were followed by the demolition of RB Leipzig in the Champions League and Burnley in the FA Cup, 7-0 and 6-0 respectively.

We'd like to know who you thought was City's star man across the month of March - see the nominations below and cast your vote:

Erling Haaland

Of City's 16 goals in March, Haaland scored nine and assisted one, taking his season tally to a frankly ridiculous 42 goals from 37 appearances. His cool penalty to win the game at Crystal Palace was followed up with another to open the floodgates against Leipzig, where he was on the spot to score four further goals on a record-breaking night. A hat-trick against Burnley sent City into the FA Cup semis, and Haaland has looked simply unstoppable to keep City alive in March and into April still going in all three competitions.

Kevin De Bruyne

The Belgian started the month facing criticism from his manager and an instruction to go back to basics. A quiet performance vs Liverpool was followed by a drop to the bench at Palace, but the next two games leave him worthy of consideration for Player of the Month. A beautiful goal at the end of the Leipzig rout capped a talismanic performance, followed by his conducting of the midfield against Burnley and two great assists for Julian Alvarez. Some response to Guardiola's challenge.

Ilkay Gundogan

The German has quietly returned to the starting lineup and made himself indispensable, impressing vs Newcastle as De Bruyne was slightly below-par. He was the difference against Crystal Palace when he reacted quickest from a corner to win the decisive penalty, and his goal immediately after half time against RB Leipzig killed any chance of a comeback when he dropped the shoulder and rolled the ball into the far corner. Just as he always does, Gundogan is showing his class at the stage of the season when it matters.
