Pep Guardiola has poured cold water on the claim that Manchester City are currently the best team in the world.
That accolade was bestowed on the Blues by Brentford boss Thomas Frank after his team had succumbed 2-0 to send City 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League.
But Guardiola indicated that the best team would be the winner of the Club World Cup final between Chelsea and South American champions Palmeiras, although he wrongly identified River Plate as South American champions.
"We are not the best team in the world," said Guardiola. "The best team is Chelsea who won the European Cup, and River Plate.
"It's about opinions. The most important thing is we won the match and now it's onto Norwich. I don't know.
"What is important is we won the game and three days we go to Norwich and we have to win the game.
"I want us to be happy and play better every day. We are in a good position, 60 points, we have a lot of distance from fifth to qualify for the Champions League next season. "
