Pep Guardiola gives Man City injury updates on John Stones and Kyle Walker for Real Madrid

Kyle Walker will travel to Madrid as Pep Guardiola welcomes back more right-back options for the second leg of the Champions League semi-final.

John Stones started in that role for Manchester City in the first leg with Walker injured and Joao Cancelo suspended, with Fernandinho taking over in the first half when Stones went off injured. The Brazilian veteran produced a superb cross for City's third goal, but was then beaten too easily for Real's second goal immediately after.

Walker, who has not featured for the Blues since suffering an ankle injury at Atletico last month, trained on Tuesday morning with the group and will be given every opportunity to prove his fitness ahead of Wednesday's game. Guardiola is keen to see how the player reacts to training and how he feels tomorrow before making a decision.

Stones will not be fit enough to make the semi-final however, having been sidelined since the previous game against Real when he rushed back from injury only to suffer another setback. City head to the Bernabeu with a 4-3 lead, and Guardiola is grateful to have more choice in his defence for this game as the Blues aim to make a second successive final.

"Joao feels good and we will see tomorrow how Kyle wakes up after training today," he said. "He trained and he is going to travel and tomorrow we will decide. He was three weeks without training but happy he is back and hopefully he will be in contention."
