Avon Fire and Rescue were called after people become trapped on a boat which drifted away on Friday (January 13). Firefighters attended Lock Keeper pub, on Keynsham Road, where the boat, which is 38-foot long, had 'broken away' due to the River Avon flooding.
The fire service were called at around 11:51am and on arrival, they reported that all people had safely self-rescued onto dryland. The large boat became wedged between Lock Keeper pub and the stone bridge. Firefighters secured the boat using rope and water rescue equipment.
Bristol Live's photographer, Paul Gillis, reported at around 12:40pm today: "Fire and rescue on scene at Lock Keeper pub. Avon fire and rescue on scene, securing boats that have broken away and are wedged between the lock keeper pub and a stone bridge."

A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue told BristolLive: "Crews from Hicks Gate and Bedminster were mobilised at 11:51 (13 January 2023) to reports of persons trapped on a boat due to rising floodwater.
"On arrival, all persons had safely self-rescued onto dryland. Due to the precarious position of the 38-foot boat and worsened floodwaters, firefighters secured the boat using rope and water rescue equipment.
They added: "The boat is now secure, and firefighters will be leaving the scene shortly."
