Former Liverpool star Michael Owen says Diogo Jota has 'great instinct' following his two goals against Leicester on Thursday evening.
The 25-year-old scored both of the Reds' goals against the Foxes at Anfield, bringing his tally for the season to 17 in all competitions.
Owen compared the Portuguese international to Salah, saying 'finishing can be improved', while instinct isn't taught.
"Finishing in general you can improve with time," he told BT Sport during the post-match analysis.
RATINGS: Liverpool player ratings as Luis Diaz good and Diogo Jota excellent against Leicester
ANALYSIS: Diogo Jota glaring truth clear as Liverpool striker becomes master
"I think Mohamed Salah’s the most obvious example of that - a very average finisher early in his career but now he’s exceptionally good.
"Instinct I think you have just got, you’ve got it or you haven’t. Right time, right place, timing of your runs you’re pretty much born with.
"Both goals were quite instinctive actually, they didn’t require brilliant finishes but the instinct to know where the ball was going to drop for the first goal.
"People think, ‘oh it’s lucky,’ but it’s not luck - how many times do you see a ball go across the box and think, ‘I wish my centre-forward was there.’ He’s got great instinct."
Jota is currently four goals behind teammate Salah in the hunt for the golden boot, the Egyptian on 16 and Jota on 12.
Tottenham's Son Heung-min is next in line with nine league goals so far this campaign, but it's the Liverpool pair that lead the way.
Glenn Hoddle was also full of praise for Jota on commentary, describing him as Jurgen Klopp's 'best buy'.
