Tomato ketchup is one of those things that works well with most foods, but it turns out it can also be used whilst cleaning - and there are impressive results to prove it.
On social media, people have discovered that the popular kitchen condiment works well to remove stubborn stains from bathroom sinks, making them sparkling clean again.
It can also be used on baths and taps, and doesn't require any scrubbing to make them look good as new. All you need to do is squirt the acidic condiment over the affected area and leave it for an hour, the Star reports.
Then, just use a damp cloth to wipe the ketchup away and you should be left with a gleaming surface that's free of stains.
On the popular Mums Who Clean Facebook page, people showed how well the trick can work on taps and sinks.
One woman posted a picture of her current bathroom situation, which saw her taps plagued with stains surrounding it. However, after trying the ketchup hack, the marks lifted off in one simple wiping motion.
She said: “Whoever came up with the tomato sauce tap hack, you’re a genius.
“Have tried everything, and nothing worked like this. No scrubbing, no effort. I’m blown away.”
Another agreed: "Thanks to this group I learnt the tomato sauce around the tap trick.
"OMG it’s amazing mine was terrible. Left it overnight."
A third wrote: "I just put it all around the base, left it overnight and rinsed it off and cleaned as normal. It was perfect."
And a fourth added: "OMG, I haven’t heard of this before. I will be giving it a go tomorrow."
Meanwhile, fans of the cleaning influencer Mrs Hinch have also been racking their brains to find out the best way to keep TV screens clean and shiny.
A popular suggestion amongst the Facebook group was using nothing more than a microfibre cloth, which helps to trap small dust particles and won't damage the delicate glass on the screen.
