People's minds are blown by felt tip pen hack that's a game-changer for 90s kids

Many children of the 90s will have been gifted some kind of art set at one point or another, be it for a birthday or Christmas, containing water colour paints, pencils, and small felt tip pens.

And after a few goes at creating colourful masterpieces with said pens, you'll have likely left a cap off for a little too long and then found that your favourite felt tips had dried out and no longer worked.

As such they might have very quickly been thrown in the bin, your dreams of becoming an artist dashed.

However, a social media user has blown people's minds after sharing a little-known hack to get the pens working again, which will make a number of people question whether their entire childhood was a lie.

A post from Tumblr has gone viral after it was shared on the Facebook group, Best of Tumblr. It featured a picture of the children's art kit and underneath this a comment read: "I can feel the dryness of those markers in my bones."

To which another Tumblr user replied: "Fun fact those dry markers were supposed to have water put into them to make them work. You take off the bottom thing and pour water in and bam, instant marker success.

"Only learned about this four years after I lost my set."

It's fair to say this piece of information blew people's minds as many had no idea about it.

Several people quickly proclaimed "WHAT" in response on the original Tumblr post.

One person wrote: "Wait what!? I had this set for Xmas one year and that too would have been good to know for 8 yr old me."

Another said: "NO! WHAT?!! I LITERALLY THREW THE WHOLE SET OUT AFTER IT DIDN'T WORK FOR MONTHS!!! My whole life was a lie....what a lie!"

A third posted: "When I was little my cousin showed me this - although I have no idea if there were instructions, and honestly, the fact that he wanted to show me probably means he had to figure it out on his own."

Someone else added: "So nobody thought to put instructions or did we miss it? I had a friend who used to lick it to get it to work."
