Long-term residents say students living on their estate are wreaking havoc and causing misery for locals. Some people have been forced to flee their homes to escape the nightmare situation, described as a 'drunken, drugged up 24-hour party place not fit for humans.'
Those living in the neighbourhood say they are often woken up by the 'giant noise fest', with churchgoers regularly reporting finding broken glass, vomit and litter on Sunday mornings. Outrage has been further prompted after a new local convenience store has applied for an alcohol licence.
Residents on the Manchester estate said their objections were not about the store. But they argued that the area would suffer if a new off licence opens, making alcohol even more readily available, The MEN reports.
