A man has been arrested after a car crashed into a row of shops.
Two fire engines were sent to Hope Farm Precinct in Ellesmere Port after a Volkswagen Golf crashed into shop fronts on one of the busiest shopping days of the year. A 21-year-old man was arrested after the incident, which happened at around 6.15pm last night (Saturday, December 17).
The row of shops and the flat above them were evacuated by the authorities as a precaution. No one is believed to have been injured in the incident.

There was no-one trapped in the grey Volkswagen Golf when they arrived and firefighters assisted in making the scene safe. Cheshire Police said a 21-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving in connection with this incident, reports Cheshire Live.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "At around 6.14pm on Saturday, December 17, police were called following reports of a collision on Hope Farm Road, Great Sutton, Ellesmere Port. Officers attended and found that a grey Volkswagen Golf had collided with a wall.
"A 21-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. Enquiries in relation to this incident are underway."
