An adorable dog and rescue kitten have persuaded people they were actually "a human couple in a past life".
Three-year-old shepherd hound, Meadow, was tasked with choosing her own rescue kitten to adopt, and straight away, she was drawn to one-year-old Twig.
Ever since arriving home, the pair have become utterly obsessed with one another and are inseparable.
Their owner, LeeAnn Babirad, from New York, US, shared a TikTok of them snuggled up on the sofa, and it has been viewed more than 5.6 million times.
She told The Mirror: "So, I took Meadow to a private farm to pick out her own kitty. These two approached other and the rest is history. They've been best friends ever since.

"They eat together, play together, sleep together. They even watch critters out the window together."
In the viral video, the duo are peacefully laying on the sofa watching television. Meadow's arm is cradling Twig and he rolls over to nestle even further into her neck.
The footage is captioned: "If we could all love each other like this cat (Twig) and dog (Meadow) do."
In the comments section, thousands of animal lovers have shared their devotion to the pair.
One person said: "Quite possibly the most precious thing I've ever seen." while another wrote: "This really touched my heart and made me tear up."
One user commented: "But what if they were a couple in a past life... and they finally found each other again."
The theory was supported by dozens of other TikTok users, with a fan echoing: "This is totally an old couple who loved each other dearly then came back as a cat and a dog."
The duo's adorable relationship is even more precious because Meadow recently lost her canine companion.
After LeeAnn's service dog sadly passed away, she took Meadow to a privately owned farm and let her choose a cat to adopt.
She explained: "I watched them all interact with each other. They approached each other and both acted submissive. So, we brought Twig home that night!"
The pair have since been captured on TikTok sharing food bowls, playing together and sleeping in the same bed.
Another dog who has become best friends with rescue kittens is one-year-old puppy Popsy.
Popsy developed a close bond with foster cats, Fawn, Hera and Ralph, after owner Catherine Walsh, 60, from Wapping, London, fostered for the animal charity, Battersea.
Catherine said: "Anything Popsy would do, they would want to do as well - they would wait at the door for us to get back when I took her on a walk.
"The kittens just totally fell in love with Popsy, and she fell in love with them too!"
