People climbing Snowdon complain it smells of urine with views of 'ugly rocks'

Hundreds of thousands of people climb Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) every year. Most are enraptured by the glorious views of Y Eryri (Snowdonia) from the 1,085-metre peak, yet not everyone is so generous with their review.

People leaving comments about Wales' most famous peak on the website Tripadvisor, are not all complimentary. Yr Wyddfa has a five star rating with around 98% of users rating it 'excellent' or 'very good'. But 21 people leave a 'terrible' rating as well as some often puzzling reviews.

Their complaints include issues about the smell, lack of toilets and even how "exhausting" the ascent is. New York-based Tripadvisor user Adhsz W complained: "There are no lavatories for all those who climb up and trek back. People seem to relieve themselves out in the open giving a whiff of urine smell everywhere in this hillside."
