People are only just realising they've been tying their dressing gown wrong

With the colder months creeping in, we may opt to cuddle into the comfort of our dressing gown for additional warmth rather than cracking up the heating. While we assume that there's only one way to tie the belt, a man has claimed that we've all been tying it wrong until now.

Mark Brown - who boasts more than one million followers on his TikTok account @rightguysreview - demonstrated the "proper" way to tie a dressing gown belt in a now- viral clip. Taking to the popular video-streaming service, the dad sparked a huge debate as he showed the " life hack " first-hand.

In the video, which has surpassed a whopping 700,000 views since posting, Mark said: "For years and years, I got my dressing gown and put the straps like this and tied it.

"Apparently I've been doing it wrong," he added.

He starts the viral video by showing the normal technique, which most people know best - where the belt is placed through all loops before simply tying it at the front.

However, Mark claims that we've been using the wrong method as he claims that we're supposed tie it at the front after hooking it in the loops, instead of tying it around your waist.

He continued: "You're meant to do this - put it through the loop at the front, put it through the other loop on the other side.

"Put it like that and tie it - done!

"That's the proper way to do it, I can't believe I just found that out today," he added.

The method involved looping the belt through the front loop and then the adjacent loop, pulling the belt to tighten, and then tying it at the front as normal.

However, while Mark seemed revolutionised by the new demonstration - many weren't sold on the unique technique.

Flocking to the comment section, viewers sparked a debate as they were torn over the new demonstration.

"Mind is blown," one person wrote.

"I'm baffled," a second added.

Meanwhile, a different user claimed: "Don't see any difference."

A second user penned: "But it's not really the right way is it lol."
