Dozens of service members have been injured in an attack on the Pentagon. Currently, the number of injured personnel stands at over 40, but that number is expected to change as members report symptoms later on. The injuries are varied, including traumatic brain injuries (TBI) which have a delayed onset of symptoms. As a result, the figure may increase as additional symptoms are reported.
Attribution for the attack points towards an Iranian-backed militia known as Kitab Hezbollah. However, the Pentagon has not made a final assessment regarding the perpetrators. Intelligence teams are currently conducting comprehensive analysis to determine the exact nature of the attack and the level of Iranian involvement. While the connection to Iran is acknowledged, explicit details on whether Iranian leaders planned, coordinated, or directly oversaw the attack are not yet available.
