A pensioner with dementia suffered a fractured wrist just seven days after moving into a nursing home.
Thomas Claeys' son, Gary, says he blames himself for the shocking treatment of his 82-year-old dad at Alt Park Nursing Home. The premises was deemed inadequate by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) earlier this month.
They revealed how the dad of a former patient at Alt Park had raised concerns of his own about the standard of care his daughter had received in the final months of her life. Liverpool Echo reports that Melvyn Chazen, 80, said his daughter Linzi Thomas "did not deserve" how she had been treated as he criticised the home's lack of specialist dementia care.
