A pensioner has been taken to hospital following a serious road accident in the centre of Ayr today.
The man's vehicle flipped on to its side after a collision in the town's Station Road.
Emergency services raced to the scene, with a crew from the nearby Ayr fire station arriving from across the street.
Roads around the crash site were closed off while rescue teams secured the area and attended to the motorist.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11.45am, police were called to a report of a road crash on Station Road, Ayr.
"Officers attended and a 76-year-old man was taken to Ayr Hospital."
