A pensioner died on a Rangers supporters' bus following the club's 3-0 win against Motherwell at Ibrox Stadium.
Robbie Stewart, 73, was travelling home on the Perth True Blues bus after the match when he became unwell on Wednesday night. The club said it was 'immensely saddened' by the news, which was confirmed via a statement following the fan's death.
It reads: "Rangers Football Club is immensely saddened to confirm the death of a supporter following Wednesday's match. Robbie Stewart, aged 73, became unwell aboard his supporters’ club bus, the Perth True Blues.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Robbie’s friends and family."
Tributes have been paid to the Light Blues fan following the sad news.
One fan said: "Rest Easy Robbie, will be truly missed on PTB bus."
Another person wrote: "Horrible news , thoughts are with the man’s family. No fan should not make it home from a match"
"May Robbie forever rest in peace", another added.
"Thoughts and love to his family through this immensely difficult time of grief."
