A man has died following a car crash close to a Scots shopping centre.
The one vehicle crash took place on Cowglen Road in the Pollok area of Glasgow at around noon on Saturday, March 5.
Emergency services raced to the scene near Silverburn Shopping Centre and it is understood that the car on its side was a silver Land Rover Defender.
Tragically, a 75-year-old man, the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An 18-year-old woman, the passenger, was rushed to hospital for treatment to a hand injury.
Cowglen Road and Peat Road were closed as crash investigation work remains ongoing.
First Bus also tweeted at 1.17pm: "Due to a road traffic accident on Peat Rd, service 3 will be missing Silverburn.
"So sorry for any issues this may cause on your journey."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 12 noon on Saturday, 5 March, to a report of a one car crash on Cowglen Road, Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and a 75-year-old man, the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"An 18-year-old woman, a passenger, was taken to hospital for treatment for a hand injury."
The road reopened at 3.55pm and officers later put out an appeal for information.
Sergeant Christopher Hoggans, of the Road Policing Department, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“There were a number of people around as it was a busy Saturday afternoon and I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened who has not yet spoken to officers to get in touch.
“In addition I am asking anyone with dash-cam footage that could assist with our enquiries to also get in touch.”
