A pensioner who thought she was having a heart attack waited nine hours for an ambulance to arrive to her home. Susan Burns, aged 71, is now calling for improvements to be made to the NHS.
Susan was at her home when her husband called 999 at 6.45pm on Saturday, October 8. But an ambulance did not arrive until 4.19am the following morning - despite two follow-up 999 calls, Stoke on Trent Live reports.
She was rushed to the Royal Stoke University Hospital where she remained for a number of days. She was later readmitted before finally being discharged on Sunday, October 16.
