Penn State’s Chop Robinson Flattered by Comparison to Cowboys’ Micah Parsons

Penn State defensive end Chop Robinson found himself in a dream scenario Wednesday when he he fielded questions at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis. He was particularly flattered when discussing comparisons between himself and former Nittany Lions defensive star Micah Parsons

“Oh yeah, I like Micah,” Robinson said. “I been watching Micah since I was in high school. He also played at Penn State. … He’s very relentless. He’s very consistent with everything he does, so I just play my game after him.”

Robinson is projected as a likely first-round pick by many NFL insiders, having declaring for the draft after his junior campaign for Penn State. In 10 appearances this past season, he tallied 15 tackles, four sacks and two forced fumbles.

Despite Robinson’s evident talent, the comparison to Parsons will be difficult to fulfill. Since being selected with the No. 12 pick in the 2021 draft by the Dallas Cowboys, Parsons has been named an All-Pro in all three of his NFL seasons, and he’s considered one of the best pass-rushers of his generation.

If Robinson can achieve even a fraction of Parsons’s success, he has a bright future ahead of him.
