In a highly anticipated matchup, No. 5 Penn State emerged victorious over No. 8 Boise State with a 31-14 win in the Fiesta Bowl. The Nittany Lions' defense put on a stellar performance, containing Boise State's star running back Ashton Jeanty and securing their spot in the College Football Playoff semifinals.

Penn State's defense was relentless, swarming Jeanty on every play and limiting him to a season-low 104 yards on 30 carries. Despite Jeanty's efforts, the Nittany Lions' defense stood strong, controlling the line of scrimmage and disrupting Boise State's offensive rhythm.
