Instead, Pegula will have Keys munch down on a cheddar cheese-topped apple pie after winning the side bet that accompanied their fourth-round clash at Melbourne Park, which the No.6 seed won 6-3 6-4 on Monday.
The way she saw it, Pegula had much more to lose.
