
The first big racing day of 2024 is set to take place on Saturday, January 27th, featuring the prestigious $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational at Gulfstream Park. Known as South Florida's leading luxury sports and lifestyle event, the Pegasus World Cup has been instrumental in bringing a fresh energy and modernization to the sport of horse racing, attracting a new generation of fans. Now in its eighth year, this highly anticipated event will be called by track announcer Pete Aiello for NBC Sports, setting the stage for an exhilarating day of racing.
The Pegasus World Cup consists of two major races, including the Pegasus World Cup Turf, both of which will be broadcasted by NBC Sports starting at 4:30 p.m. ET for the 12th and 13th races of the day. These races are specifically designed for older horses and cover a distance of 1 1/8 miles. Additionally, Pegasus World Cup day offers seven other graded stakes races, making it the highlight event of the Gulfstream Park Championship Meet before the highly-anticipated Florida Derby in April.
